I think being cute might makes you feel a bit young. Like if you're an 18-year-old on a date, you want to look sexy or beautiful on the date, not cute, which might sound like you're 12. I don't know. It's one thing if a friend says "you look cute," but it feels like another when it's someone you're interested in to say the same thing, I think.
